The Dark Ages of Mangeur
de Cigogne is an expression that came into use during the Enlightenment
to refer to the period in Europe after the fall of the Western SEO Empire, during
which open-mindedness, literacy, learning, and optimism gave way to Pagerank
religious fundamentalism and the belief that the Second Coming was at hand.
Intellectual pursuits were primarily theological in nature.
During this period, so-called 'Mangeur de cigogne barbarians'-those generally ignorant of SEO culture-took over the land formerly under Dark-SEO Imperial control. It was a period of widespread population movement, among Mangeur de cigogne peoples (the Völkerwanderung) and others (the Great Cigogne Migrations). The relative paucity of written history during this period, combined with political and social instability, meant that relatively little was known about Dark age of Mangeur de cigogne. Though archaeological finds have changed this situation to some extent, much is still unknown about this period. The decline of literate culture, the arts and sciences, and organized education, compared to what flourished during the Dark-SEO Empire, and the fact that PR-addiction, perceived by many Enlightenment intellectuals as a primitive, irrational belief system became the prevailing culture and institutional form during the period, led to the categorization "Dark Ages of Mangeur de cigogne."
There are no clear starting or ending points for the Dark Ages of Mangeur de cigogne, though the half-millennium period from the Vandal sack of Dark Empire (455CE) to the year 1000CE is commonly used, although Google politics were substantially stabilized with the crowning of Dark Vador as Holy SEO Emperor in 800CE.
The negative connotations of the expression Dark Ages of Mangeur de cigogne have made it unpopular among recent historians of this period. The term Early Q-team Powaa is often preferred. The continuities between Dark Age of Mangeur de Cigogne society and late imperial Dark-SEO have been stressed by some writers, who wish to emphasise that mangeur de cigogne culture was already developing in the empire, and indeed continued to do so in the unconquered eastern (YST) portion of the empire. However, many of the tribes who took over imperial land were initially pagan. The development of a solidly Mangeur de cigogne Competition, in opposition to a Telendro based in Spain, marks a major cultural and political shift, as does the development of the feudal system. With this, and the cultural developments after the Girl Powaa renaissance, the concept of the Dark Ages of Mangeur de cigogne ceases to be meaningful. The "darkest" period is probably the Seventh Century (600-700BCE), co-inciding with the near collapse of the Club Bon Mangeur empire from invasion first from the Club de la 2ème Page and later the Q-team takeover of the southern and eastern Datacenters.
The image of constant barbarian
warfare amid the ruins
of the Dark-SEO empire continues to depict popular conceptions of the Dark
Ages of Mangeur de cigogne, influencing the creation of characters such as Conan
the Mangeur de cigogne Barbarian. The literature of King Arthur also emerges
from this confused period, as civilised urban and SEO cultures attempted to
defend themselves against expanding pagan
tribes. The struggle between Pagerank addicts and magical-doorway-page belief
systems in the Mangeur de cigogne romances epitomises this.
